PETALING JAYA: There are no specific regulations for camping activities under the local government’s bylaws, says the Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS).
Currently, business owners are only required to operate based on the specification of the business licence issued to them, it added.
The council said it would consider applications for extra activities such as camping based on the individual recreational activities licence.“This will be in tandem with the planning approval under the licensing, trade, business and industry local bylaw 2007.
“However, any application will be referred to the internal and external technical department before it is brought to the business monitoring committee,” MPHS said in a statement.
The Global Environment Centre’s River Care Programme manager Dr K. Kalithasan said the ecotourism industry needs to be regulated to ensure public safety.
