Taman Aman Lake Education and Stewardship (TALES)

The Taman Aman Lake Education & Stewardship (TALES) Programme is an environmental education programme developed to promote public awareness, environmental literacy, and community stewardship towards urban lake ecosystems.
The programme adopts an experiential and participatory learning approach, where participants learn directly from the surrounding environment through observation, interaction, discussion, and simple citizen science activities. Rather than learning only through classroom-based methods, participants are encouraged to engage actively and hands-on with real lake conditions and ecological processes around Taman Aman Lake.

Throughout the trail, participants will explore six stations and overall biodiversity observation covering topics such as:
                                                          Overall: Biodiversity Education Spots (BEST)
      Stations No
                                               Station Name
Station 1
Lake Health Monitoring Station (LAKE Health)
Station 2
Pollination and Native Plant Garden (Pollinators)
Station 3
Runoff and Pollution Pathway Station (Lake Basin)
Station 4
Lake Outlet and Eutrophication Observation Station (Biomonitoring)
Station 5
Wetland Ecosystem and Floating Wetlands Station (Wetlands)
Station 6
Trash-to-Art Activity Station (Upcycling)
The programme also incorporates elements of citizen science, allowing participants to contribute towards environmental monitoring through guided observation and simple data collection activities.
TALES aims to encourage participants to better understand the relationship between people, biodiversity, and urban water ecosystems while promoting positive environmental behaviour and long-term stewardship of the lake.
